The ZSO Library Committee is pleased to invite you to the next event in its Speaker's Series, featuring an illuminating talk on Avesta, the language spoken by Asho Zarathushtra and the foundation of our religious texts.
Dr. Rashin Jahangiri, Moobedyar, Council of Tehran Moobeyars, and Avesta scholar, recorded the five Gathas for the Gatha Speaking Pen, a smart device which anyone can use to listen to the correct pronunciation of the Gathas based on Din Dabireh, by moving the smart pen on the surface of a specific Gatha page.
Her presentation, “Avestan Language and Script: An Important Part of Zoroastrian Identity,” will provide information about this technological marvel, as well as highlight the historical, linguistic, and cultural significance of the Avestan language and script.
We look forward to welcoming you for an evening of learning, reflection, and community connection.
