    The ZSO informs you of the sad passing of Bejon Dinshaw Aga on Saturday, October 04, 2025, in Karachi, Pakistan.

    Bejon was the son of late Dinshaw and late Dina Aga, Husband of Arnewaz Aga, Father of Dinshaw, Kaiyan and Avan Aga. Grandfather of Fram and Kai Appoo.

    The ZSO informs you with deep sorrow of the passing of Mr. Aspi Jafrabad, who passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Mississauga, Ontario. He is survived by his beloved wife, Baktu.

    Aspi was the loving father of Jim (Samantha) and Carl (Margaret), and the proud grandfather of Marcus, Derek, Kyle, and Ryan.

    Funeral details will be shared once available.

    Our heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved family during this difficult time.

    The ZSO informs you of the sad passing of Farokh Adil Panthakee on Saturday September 6, in Toronto. He was the son of late Adil Noshir Panthakee and is survived by his loving mother, Perin, and sister Aimy Panthakee. 

    He was the nephew of Zareen Tamboli, Dinyar and Dara Panthakee, and Soonu Dhunjishaw of Mumbai. 

    The Sarosh nu Patru prayers will be held at the darbe meher on Sunday, September 7, and Monday, September 8, both at 7:30pm. 

    The funeral service will be held on, Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, Ontario (Phone number 905-889-8889).

    The ZSO informs you of the sad passing of Eruch Pestonji Bhathena, on July 25, 2025, at the age of 93.

    He was the devoted husband of the late Nergish Bhathena, and a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew him.

    We pray for his soul’s peaceful journey and celebrate the legacy he leaves behind.

    Eruch is lovingly remembered by his sons Hushidar (Hoshi) and Rohinton, daughter-in-law Benaifer, and grandsons Shahzad, Freddy, and Jason.

    A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 2:30 PM (EDT) at:
    Glen Oaks Funeral Home (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, Ontario, L6H 7A8)

    This will be followed by a private cremation attended by immediate family members only.

    With deep sorrow, the Zoroastrian Society of Ontario announces the peaceful passing of Mr. Cyrus Zarolia, who departed this life on July 19th, 2025 at 6:00 PM, in Sunnyvale, California.

    Cyrus was the beloved husband of the late Homai Zarolia, and devoted father to Parizad Zarolia.
    He is lovingly remembered by his siblings:

    • Saosh Dastoor (Canada)
    • Kobad Zarolia (Canada)

    A gentle soul and cherished member of our community, Cyrus will be missed deeply by family, friends, and all who knew him.

    The ZSO informs you of the sad passing of Shahnaz Soli Pestonji on Thursday, July 17th, 2025.

    Shahnaz was a devoted wife of Soli, loving mother of Dina, Yasmin
    (Kinjal) and doting grandmother of Shayna.

    Prayer services will be held at the Mehraban Guiv Darbe Mehr on Sunday, July 20th at 4 pm.

    Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July, 24, 2025 at 11 am at Kane-Jarrett Funeral Home (8088 Yonge St, Thornhill, ON L4J 6W6).

    The ZSO informs you of the sad passing of Dr. Katy Driver Radhakrishnan.

    Surrounded by family, Katy Driver Radhakrishnan passed away at the age of 86 on July 3, 2025, at Sunnybrook Hospital. Predeceased by her late husband Radha, brother Jimmy and sister-in-law Anoo. Survived by her soul sister Betty Madan, children Meena Steckly (Richard) and Sam (Johanna), and grandchildren Maya, Sara, Nigel and Sophia.

    She loved to give and help others – it was her purpose, and it fueled her. We are grateful for her loving parenting, her loyal and engaged friendship, her long career as a pediatrician at Sick Kids and in private practice, and for her amazing networks of “chosen family” and close friends in the Zoroastrian community and beyond. Funeral by invitation only.

    A celebration of life will be announced in time. Arrangements entrusted to Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hospital for Sick Children, the Zoroastrian Society of Ontario, or the Ontario Zoroastrian Community Foundation.

    With deep sorrow we regret to inform you of the sad passing of Shahrokh Rustomji, husband of Dinaz, loving father of Natasha, Fawaz (Pooja), Grandfather of Naila, Farhad, Cyrus and Ariana, passed away peacefully on June 30 at 6:40am.

    The Zoroastrian Society of Ontario (ZSO) deeply mourns the passing of Mahindokht Bastani on June 9, 2025.

    She was the beloved wife of the late Bahram Shahryar Hormozdyaran and a devoted mother to Tahmoures, Tahmtan, Golnavaz, and Farshad. Mahindokht will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love, cherished not only by her family but by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

    A Porseh prayer service in her remembrance will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Mehraban Guiv Darbe Mehr at 5 p.m., offering a time for reflection and honor of her life.

    Our sincere condolences go out to her bereaved family. May they find strength and comfort during this time of sorrow.

    he Zoroastrian Society of Ontario (ZSO) deeply mourns the passing of Alayar Dabestani, a beloved and esteemed member of our Zoroastrian community.

    Born on July 1, 1943, in Sharifabad, Ardakan, Alayar was the cherished son of the late Khatoon and Ardashir. He departed peacefully on June 6, 2025, in Seattle, USA, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his faith and community.

    Alayar will be remembered for his quiet strength, warm generosity, and steadfast devotion to the Zoroastrian principles of Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds. As a pillar of our community, he was always thoughtful, compassionate, and committed to uplifting those around him. He played a significant role in supporting Zoroastrian newcomers in Toronto, offering them opportunities through the cinema he co-owned with Esfandiar Dehmoubed. His actions embodied his commitment to the prosperity and unity of our people.

    He is survived by his beloved wife, Gitty Zohrabi, and their two children, Nousheen and Ardeshir. His memory will continue to shine through them, as well as through all those whose lives he touched with his wisdom and kindness.

    Among the early students of the elementary school in Sharifabad, Alayar was one of the thoughtful voices of our community, respected for his dedication to education, tradition, and service. His values and character remain a testament to the enduring spirit of Zoroastrianism.

    May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may Ahura Mazda grant strength and comfort to his family during this time of sorrow.
