It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dr. Virasp Kaikhushro Davar on March 15th, 2026. Son of Late Perin and Kaikhushro Davar.
Virasp was the loving husband to Kamal V. Davar for 54 years, beloved father to Urmez V. Davar, Usheen V. Davar and Ushtavaity Davar Canteenwalla. A wonderful Father-in law to Rovena Davar and Zubin Canteenwalla, and an adored Dada and Nana to his very loved grandkids Jamshed, Nergis, Neville, Firoze, and Darien.
Virasp exemplified what it meant to lead a humble Zoroastrian life- filled with kindness, generosity, and integrity. He led by example and instilled in his children, grandchildren and extended family the values of hard work, honesty, and helping others.
His young adult years were spent in Karachi where he lived with his mother Perin, sister Nina and brother Farhad. He was an ambitious student. The value of a strong education was something Virasp held deeply as he continued his studies in Scotland to obtain his Master’s and PhD in Chemistry.
Family and education were top priorities for Virasp. In hopes for a better future for his children, he and Kamal migrated the family from Pakistan to NJ in 1981 when he received a job transfer to the US (North Brunswick, NJ) from Johnson & Johnson (J&J). He proudly worked for J&J for over 35+ years as a Senior Director leading global corporate quality control. He was an avid global traveler and had incredible stories. Virasp was highly respected by his colleagues who enjoyed working with him very much such that he continued to consult for J&J well after retirement!
Virasp is remembered fondly by all those he met as being a kind, gentle, quiet, generous and a honorable person. He was often the pillar of support to many family and friends who would seek his advice. He had a zest for life and his greatest joy was simply seeing his family happy.
Virasp is going to be missed deeply but we know that his memory continues on in all those he loved and inspired.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the ZAGNY Critical Assistance Fund or the ZAGNY Academic Scholarship Fund as these two entities stand for the values Virasp held deeply.
